Soak Up The Sun-Dried Vibes; Charlotte, NC Award-Winning Reggae Band On National Tour Now
“Just as these three laid-back guys took storm of the audience, they have also taken storm of the Southeast with their reggae, pop sound.” – Cistern Yard
Sun Dried Vibes, reggae’s true road warriors, have hit the road for their biggest national tour to date. Their run of shows commences in the Southeast, as Sun Dried Vibes will begin their long journey to the West Coast and back, where they will be featured at the nation’s premiere reggae-rock festival, California Roots Music & Arts Festival. This tour will encompass almost three months and over 35 cities across the country so fans will be able to soak up all the Sun Dried Vibes they want!
In their brief but prolific history, Sun Dried Vibes have been no stranger to relentless touring. Since forming in 2010, they have averaged an incredible 275 live shows per year, and last year they experienced the tour highlights of performing at the Cali Roots Carolina Sessions Festival, the East Coast iteration of Cali Roots, and also performing a headlining tour in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
This year Sun-Dried Vibes have decided to scale back the number of shows they play and instead focus on cultivating fans in new markets while continuing to build their already solid foundation along the Eastern Seaboard. Sun-Dried Vibes lead singer Zach Fowler confides their less-is-more approach to shows will benefit the band greatly in 2015. “We have a lot of really cool shows coming up. We’re hitting Denver with Tatanka, we’re also hitting Santa Cruz with The Expanders. We’re going to be doing some shows down in San Diego and Santa Barbara with Ease Up, Arise Roots, the Wheeland Brothers, Build a Machine. We’re really excited to get out there and meet a lot of new people and play live for them.”
Becoming one of the brightest up and coming reggae rock bands on the scene has been a process Sun-Dried Vibes has worked tirelessly at. They have worked relentlessly on their music and have created an image that gives a nod to their contemporaries Rebelution and Tribal Seeds, with their heavy bass lines and jazzy melodies, while fusing their own uplifting sound highlighted by the rock-influenced vocal delivery of lead singer Zach Fowler whose lyrics construct messages of positivity and spirit.
Made up of band members Zach Fowler on guitar/vocals, Evan Tyler on bass, and Alex Winchester on drums, Sun-Dried Vibes have released two albums to date including their debut Give Thanks and their sophomore effort Back2Square1, which debuted at #6 on the iTunes Reggae Rock Chart. Sun-Dried Vibes took home back-to-back awards for South Carolina’s Rock Band of the Year in 2012 and 2013 and also were chosen Charlotte’s Best Local Band in 2012 by the Readers of Creative Loafing. They have had the opportunity to play support for some of the genres biggest influencers such as Dirty Heads, 311, Slightly Stoopid, Ballyhoo!, Passafire, The Expendables, Less Than Jake, The Aggrolites and The Movement.
